USAID/REAP Agricultural Lending Specialist - Completed

 

USAID/REAP, through a local consultant and its dedicated Access to Finance Specialist, together with Agricultural Projects Management Agency (APMA) will provide agricultural lending training to Georgian banks using training material previously developed by an international consultant.

 

The assignment is expected to take place in the period of July 1- July 22, 2015. Total LOE for this assignment will not exceed 15 days.

Restoring Efficiency to Agriculture production (REAP) Marketing Specialist -Completed

The USAID/Caucasus mission awarded CNFA a contract valued at $19.5 MM USD to implement the Restoring Efficiency to Agriculture Production (REAP) activity  that is  an integrated enterprise development program designed to identify promising entrepreneurs, promote increased investment, and support that investment with improved business and technical skills. FSC/MSCs, primary producers, information and support service providers, post-harvest facilities, and processing enterprises are target categories for REAP investment through its competitive grants program  that provides funding equal to a maximum of 30% of the total project value. REAP provides a demand-driven technical assistance to its grant recipients to ensure that REAP-supported agribusinesses are sustainable and develop competitive advantages. 
The purpose of this assignment is to develop a results-oriented marketing strategy for this REAP-supported nursery to better position the business, reach sustainability, and become competitive.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and gather statistical and other background information to better understand the current state of affairs in the target industry
Recommend actions and initiatives for implementation that can differentiate this nursery from  competitors (e.g. virus free certification, new varieties, new crops, assortment)
Develop a sound marketing and sales strategy for the nursery to increase production and identify diverse markets for its products in the short and long-run planning perspectives
Develop an action plan to implement the recommended marketing strategy


PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE

This assignment is planned to take place between August 7, 2014 and September 10, 2014.  Total LOE for this assignment will be 20 workdays.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •     Relevant university degree
  •     5 years of professional experience in agricultural marketing
  •     Highly motivated innovator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  •     Good analytical and conceptual skills
  •     Knowledge of English is an advantage
